Puffy Paint
After constantly wishing there was an alternative to the expensive art classes and camps, I decided to start a local Children's Art Group. With 30 members, some awesome little artists, and enthusiastic parents, we are having a BLAST focusing on process art and projects.
At our 5th meetup with Children's Art Group, we made PUFFY PAINT. We also brought lots of "accessories" such as rice, colored noodles, beans, shells, glitter, q-tips, squeeze bottles, etc.

Puffy paint is made by mixing equal parts Flour, Salt, and Water and adding food coloring or tempura paint in desired colors. You can also add glitter! The result is awesome and really fun for kids to work with! It will dry into a raised work of art! For an added element of fun, you can put the puffy paint into squeeze bottles, and because it is so thick, using utensils such as a fork to rake through it to make designs is fun too!

ReplyDeleteHey... not sure if you have already had this idea but bubble paint makes me think of corn syrup and food coloring. It is fun, edible (a little sticky :) ) but looks great. I will be trying your puffy paint soon. Your website is a life saver for me who has a hard time playing, being creative and having an imagination. I found your site today and we have already tried three of these things... my son is in heaven... me too!!
