It's cheap, it's fun, it's easy to clean up, and there's lots of ways to play with it! In my opinion it's a must have item in the kids art/activity supply closet!

Powdered Paint Filled Eggs

Powdered Paint Filled Eggs

I've filled eggs with regular paint before, but this time I tried Powdered Paint, which was much cooler! When L threw the eggs, the powder kind of exploded instead of making a small splat.
After he threw them all, and once again I realized that I should have made more, I got out a bucket of water and spray bottle to prolong the fun!

After blowing the yolk out of the eggs I used a pen to
carefully break a larger hole in the top of each egg. (No eggs were wasted. I blew the eggs into a bowl to use for scrambled eggs for a few days of breakfast)
After they were washed out and dried I filled them with powdered paint.

Then I hot glued tissue paper over the holes.

Just like the first time we made paint filled eggs, we took them outside to splat on the driveway.
The throwing always ends so quickly, but we did much more with the powdered paint on the ground afterward. He even just liked walking in it to make his feet colorful!

and that's then I brought out the water to make rainbow puddles!

TIP
You could also use plastic easter eggs!
