Sensory Play Recipes Using Frosting Creations From Duncan Hines

Duncan Hines has recently put out a new product called Frosting Creations. These packets of scented and flavored powders are bought individually and are used to create custom frostings for cakes, cupcakes, etc.  There are so many fun and delicous flavors to choose from, such as Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Chocolate Marshmallow, and Strawberry Shortcake to name a few. See all of the flavors HERE!

Play Create Explore was the first to discover the use of the new Frosting Creations from Duncan Hines in Sensory Play Recipes, when I first used them to make my Homemade Colored and Scented Rice for Sensory Play. Since then, it has become a big hit as a key ingredient in many Sensory Play Recipes and it is no wonder either...as these cheap and easy to find packets of flavored and scented powder can be added to all sorts of recipes for sensory play to create the most deliciously scented paints, playdoughs, etc. that you've ever smelled!

Here are the fun ways we've used the
Frosting Creations in our Sensory Play Recipes so far...

And we are continuing to play and explore with this new fun product from Duncan Hines!
So many oh so yummy sensory play possibilities!

I'm not certain that Frosting Creations can be found outside of the US. If you don't live in the US and would like to buy them, you can find them here on Amazon and  here on Ebay
Another simple alternative is to use Koolaid in some of these recipes instead, although you won't find such unique flavored scents as with the Frosting Creations.

COUPON ALERT!
I also just discovered a new coupon for 50 cents off any Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Product to use at participating Walmarts. Offer expires 2/13/2013

  1. This is a great activity for the kids! I am an avid baker and I guess this can somehow help me to rub off some of my kitchen skill to my daughter.

  2. I will try to make that scented water color for creating a personalized greeting card for my brother's birthday. I hope he will like it.

  3. My friends also suggested this to me to try homemade scented watercolors for our personalize invitation card for our baby shower. I think this is worth the try, and yes we’ll definitely try this material.

  4. This is a cool and creative idea indeed; I just do wonder if this also works when used as the main material for home wallpapers. I am thinking of using this one to paint the walls in my bedroom.
